This first animal in K can measure up to 60 cm long and weighs between 3 and 4 kg. Due to its stunted wings, it cannot fly. It is a herbivorous bird, which feeds on fruits, seeds and pollen. A curiosity of the kakapo is its smell: many say it has the smell of a flower and honey.
