Orca (Orcinus orca)

The orca is a type of cetacean odontocete which can live up to 45 years in the case of males and 30 years for females. This animal in O belongs to the family of oceanic dolphins and is found in all the oceans of the planet.

About them, it should be said that this is the largest species of delphinids, and there is a marked sexual dimorphism between males and females. On the other hand, and as a curiosity, killer whales are apex predators, that is, they are at the top of the food pyramid and no animal is able to attack them.

This animal in O belongs to the genus of hominids and among them are three species of great apes, which are native to Malaysia and Indonesia. These three species of great apes are:

  • Bornean orangutan (Pongo pygmaeus).
  • Sumatran orangutan (Pongo abelii).
  • Tapanuli orangutan (Pongo tapanuliensis).

We can say that orangutans are distinguished above all by their red fur and their physique adapted to an arboreal life. In addition, according to the IUCN, it is in danger of extinction due to the destruction of its habitat and illegal trade.

Platypus (Ornithorhynchus anatinus)

This animal in O is very curious and it is a semi-aquatic mammal. It was first discovered in 1798, and its physical appearance caused such astonishment that it was first believed that someone had sewn a duck’s beak onto the body of a beaver.
